TC Donates to Exceeding Expectations |
|
Many of you already know about TC's annual Ironman Pot Luck where members gather to watch the Ironman World Championships, eat till we roll, and raffle donated items for charity. Our 2009 gathering raised $400. I'm happy to report a check for $200 is on its way to Exceeding Expectations ; a charitable organization benefiting underprivileged kids in the San Bernardino county. The remainder of the money raised will go towards 2010 club events.
Raising funds would not be possible without the generous contributions from the following organizations:
A very special "Thank You" goes out to these folks. Without their help, our raffle would not have been possible. All other prizes were purchased with club funds or donated private party. Looking forward to next year.

The December 13th Tinsel Triathlon is an event to which EE always taken a large group of kids. It offers new younger kids the opportunity to get involved with racing and our older ones a chance not only to compete but to help get the newcomers in the swing of things. It's a wonderful event and the race organizers have always been very kind and generous to us. The discounted fees we'll pay this year are $30 for a triathlete and $20 for a 5K runner. We'd like to take 20 triathletes and 14 5K runners, for a total of nearly $900.
Nine hundred dollars from our budget puts us in a position of having $900 less for such necessities as books for our college kids, music programs, etc. But if you as an individual were to sponsor one kid for $20 or $30, it's not a large amount but would be of great help to us. If you're interested, here's how it works:
- Send me an email at

with a pledge.
- Write a check to Exceeding Expectations and send it to the address below. Of course, it's tax deductible and we'll send you a receipt.
- If you know one of the kids and would like to sponsor him/her, let me know. If you have no preference, we'll assign you a kid.
- If you are doing the race, we'll introduce you to your kid on race morning. If you want to race alongside him/her, that would be great.
- Following the event, we'll send a message letting you know how your sponsored kid(s) did.
As always, we are grateful to you for how much you care about the kids and all you've done in the past. We expect to get back on track financially in time but, for now, we appreciate your understanding and your help. Check out http://www.eefoundation.org/EE-Half-2009/EE-Half-Marathon.pdf to see a recent EE event and some of the newer kids.
Thank you very much
Cherie
